In the March primary election, the 48th Ward voted overwhelmingly YES on the advisory referendum question– Shall the Chicago Board of Education establish a formal process to receive community input regarding removal of the Rickover Military Academy at Senn High School?

The vote was 69.3% YES. That was over 4500 votes YES.

Keeping Up the Pressure!

The picket at Rickover’s opening ceremony was attended by more than 50 protestors. Most news stations covered the protest, and Daley, Duncan and Durbin were forced to spend time answering questions about the militarization of schools, and its negative effect on Senn as opposed to promoting the benefits of military education.
